Yes, we are back to Ordinary Time in the church. Our liturgical color is green, and we will be in this season until early March when we enter into Lent. Ordinary Time reminds us that our life should be well-ordered in following Christ. For us in our modern age, we are people who are ruled by the clock. God does not have a clock. His love and mercy for us is boundless. The most important day for all Christian people is Sunday. We look back and give thanks to God for the blessings of the past week. We look forward to the coming week, and think about how we might use our time well.
This week we want to pray for a respect for all life. Life begins at conception, and ends with natural death. Life is sacred and holy. Many of the mysteries of life will be unfolded before us one day when we enter eternity. There is a whole lot out there waiting for us! God is truly spectacular! I encourage you to pray for the people who are in Washington, D.C. for the Right to Life march. May they be kept safe until they return home and that it will be a good experience for all who attend the March. Respecting life means the born as well as the unborn. May we never take someone’s life or even our own life for granted. Life is sacred.
Peace……Fr. Jeff
