From the Pastor's Desk - 4/6/2025

    Lent is moving quickly along. Next weekend is Palm Sunday. We then enter into some very special days known as Holy Week. I will be in church for confessions Palm Sunday afternoon from 2:00-4:00. You may stop in at any time. I will also have the Oil of the Sick for those who would like to be anointed. Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday have all services at 6:00 in the evening. Easter Sunday is our regular mass schedule of 8:00, 10:00 and noon.

    As of this writing, we do not know who the new pastor of Christ the King/Ascension parish is. It could be me, as I have applied; or could be someone else. Please keep our “new” parish in your prayers, as this is a time of transition and change for both parishes coming together as one.

    I recently completed my Retreat Week at St. Meinrad in southern Indiana. While I appreciated the time away and the opportunity to deepen my relationship with Christ, I encourage you to find time and places to deepen your relationship as well. A few days away, or any time to pray, reflect, discern, is always good for the soul. To intentionally take time “out” is important and strongly encouraged.
