From the Pastor's Desk - 4/20/2025

  HAPPY EASTER to you!! He is risen!! What a joyful day for us. Jesus suffered, died, and then was transformed and rose from the dead. A true miracle for each of us, as life now points towards heaven. How blessed we are because of our faith in Jesus Christ. May God bless you and your loved ones now at Easter with good health and much happiness and peace. Thank you for your faith. Thank you for being here in church today to celebrate who we are—followers of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

  Last week it was official; I am named the pastor of the soon-to-be new parish of Ascension of Our Lord and Christ the King. This is part of phase 3 with the diocese in their plan to become more efficient with our resources. I look forward to bringing our 2 great parishes together. We have been neighbors, sharing parish boundaries, sharing Confirmation with our students, sharing Knights of Columbus, and other activities. We will soon be 1 parish with 2 facilities. I ask for your prayers as we all go through this merger together. May we be open to the Holy Spirit, and may we be flexible in our thoughts that will lead to good decisions. I am so blessed to be here with all of you at both facilities. 

  The merger takes effect on July 1. Much work will need to take place before then; and even after that it will be a period of transition and adjustment. This is something new for all of us. May we, at this time, trust in God.
