Read the daily quote from Pope Francis

The Gospel of mercy

“The Gospel of mercy, to be proclaimed and written in our daily lives, seeks people with patient and open hearts, ‘good Samaritans’ who understand compassion and silence before the mystery of each brother and sister. The Gospel of mercy requires generous and joyful servants, people who love freely without expecting anything in return.” — Pope Francis

Reflection: On a scale of 1(never), 2 (rarely), 3 (usually), or 4 (always), rate yourself on how often you respond to other people with:

  1. Patience 1...2...3...4
  2. Compassion
  3. Reverent silence
  4. Generosity
  5. Joy
  6. Selfless love (without expecting anything in return)

Looking at your results, what are your strengths (3s and 4s) in proclaiming the Gospel of mercy through your life? Give thanks to the Holy Spirit for working through you in these ways. Which area needs the most work (1s and 2s)? Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in growing as a disciple of Christ.
